Day 7 of 75 days in Faith
It’s time to heal your temple
Scripture:
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
On day 7 of 75 days in Faith we will discuss how (discipline is essential) for growth in both our spiritual, and physical lives. And how it reflects God’s love, and desire for us to live a healthy, and prosperous life.
On this journey of Faith, remember that (discipline) is the key piece of how we align ourselves with Gods will, and prepare ourselves for the purposes He has for us.
According to Ephesians 3:20, God is able to do exceedingly, and abundantly far more than we can think or even imagine. So we must trust that (God will provide) the strength, and wisdom we need to honor Him and be (disciplined) in all of our choices.
Our bodies are not just physical vessels, they are temples, designed to carry out God’s divine purposes on earth. When we think of healing and restoration, it’s important to remember that both our physical health, and our spiritual well being are connected.
Hebrews 12:11 says, No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful later on; however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Being (undisciplined) with our food choices over a long period of time can hinder us from walking in the fullness of what God has for us.
At some point, we all have to be realistic and ask ourselves, is my temple capable of stewarding the responsibilities of what Gods called me to do in my lifetime?
This particular question should open our eyes to the endless possibilities of what our lives would look like if we consistently focused on our physical, and mental health.
Life is a long journey… and we’ve got to remember that the same way we nourish our spirits with the Word of God, we must also nourish our bodies with the right foods to be strong, and equipped for the tasks God has prepared for us.
God has uniquely gifted each of us with talents, purposes, and callings. In order to fulfill these assignments, we must be in good health both physically, and spiritually.
The foods we choose to consume directly affect our ability to carry out our purpose. Just as we seek spiritual food from the Word of God, we are called to make wise decisions about the physical food that sustains us.
Foods that don’t promote health or align with the principles of stewarding our temples properly may need to be laid down…
The Holy Spirit is our Helper, guiding us in every area of our life, including our choices at the table.
As we honor our temples with healthier food, we are actively participating in the restoration, and healing of our temples. This includes not just what we eat but also what we choose to avoid eating.
Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…
So let’s partner with God for our healing process. He’s filled the earth with herbs and foods that are made to heal us from within.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we invite You to lead and guide us as we make decisions about the food we eat.
Show us the foods that will heal and strengthen our bodies, and reveal to us the foods that we need to abstain from for the sake of our health and well-being.
Help us to honor You in every area of our lives, including how we care for our temples. Give us wisdom to make choices that reflect our purpose and allow us to fulfill the calling You have placed on our lives.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
