Day 56 of 75 days in Faith
During these past 56 days of 75 Days in Faith, we have gone over and prayed about walking in (alignment with God) so that we can carry out the plans and purpose that He has for our lives. Today, we’ll go over letting go of control by giving it to God so that we can be in alignment with Him, and then letting the Holy Spirit guide us so that we can fulfill our assignments here on earth.
Giving God control means surrendering our lives, our wills, and our desires to Him. It means trusting in His sovereignty, His goodness, and His love. When we give God control, we are acknowledging that He is the Creator of EVERYTHING and the Lord of our lives. And because of this, we should want to honor God by giving Him control.
When we give God control, we are acknowledging that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), we are trusting in His unconditional love for us (1 John 4:8) and we are acknowledging that His power is unlimited.
So how do we surrender control? We do so by surrendering our will to His will (Romans 12:1-2), by trusting in His sovereignty (Psalm 23:4) by obeying His commands (John 14:15) and by listening to and being led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14).
When we give our full surrender, we gain so many benefits and so many rewards. A few include gaining peace and joy (Philippians 4:6-7), gaining freedom from fear and anxiety (1 Peter 5:7), gaining fulfillment of His purpose in our lives (Jeremiah 29:11) and receiving guidance and direction from the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is our Helper, our Guide, and our Comforter. He is the one who empowers us to live a life that is pleasing to God (John 16:13).
Letting go of control and letting the Holy Spirit guide is a process that requires trust, surrender, and obedience. As we surrender our will to God and trust in His sovereignty, we experience peace, freedom, joy, and guidance.
So let’s do this. Let’s let go of control. Let’s give God our full surrender. We can do this by ⁃ Taking a step back in difficult situations (no matter how big or small) and asking the Holy Spirit for guidance. ⁃ Paying attention to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit in your life. ⁃ Obeying God's word and following His commands, even when it's difficult or uncomfortable. ⁃ Trusting that God is in control and that He has a plan for your life.
Letting go of control and letting the Holy Spirit guide is a process that requires trust, surrender, and obedience. May we learn to let go of control and let the Holy Spirit guide, that we may live a life that is pleasing to God.

Father, I surrender my life to you. I give you control of my thoughts, my emotions, my actions, and my decisions. I acknowledge that you are the Creator of the universe and the Lord of my life. I trust in your sovereignty, your goodness, and your love.
Holy Spirit, help me to let go of my need to control and to trust in Gods plan for my life. Give me the strength to surrender my will and to follow your lead. Take control of my life and guide me on the path that you God has planned for me. Help me to trust in His goodness and to have faith in His promises. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
