Day 27 of 75 days in Faith
The Power of Nonverbal Communication…

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
‭‭- Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭12‬ ‭
On day 27, we will focus on one of the most powerful forms of communication; one that can speak louder than our words at times…
(Nonverbal communication!!!)
Studies show that 93% of communication is nonverbal:
Body language: 55%
Tone of voice: 38%
Spoken words: 7%
Let’s talk about it…
(The power of a smile)
A simple smile can immediately break down walls, or barriers and make you more approachable.
It’s magnetic in a sense of what you show is often what you get in return. Yet, on tough days, we sometimes forget that our facial expressions communicate more than we realize.
(Guard your heart)
Proverbs 4:23 says,
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
This scripture is a powerful reminder that the heart is the center of our emotions, thoughts, desires, and decisions. What we allow into our hearts shapes how we think, and have a huge impact on our nonverbal communication.
Proverbs 15:13 says, A happy heart makes the face cheerful; so we have to ask God to cleanse our hearts and minds so that we can effectively guard our hearts. Our heart is the root of our nonverbal communication…
(Extending grace, withholding assumptions)
In some cases, a persons facial expressions is not always indicative of where their heart is; they could be having a bad day, or even a tough moment.
And that’s where we as believers should look to show grace, rather than assume the worst; we never know what a person has gone through in the past, or is currently going through.
(We Reap What We Sow)
Galatians 6:7 says, Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth, that also shall he reap.
If you want respect, and kindness in return, make sure your body language, and facial expressions are approachable.
You never know what someone is going through, and your smile could be exactly what they need today.
The grace, and patience we extend to others in their tough moments often comes back to us when we face our own.
Key Takeaways:
Nonverbal Communication Matters: What we convey through body language and facial expressions speaks volumes.
Guard Your Heart: Protect your emotions and thoughts, as they influence everything, including how you communicate.

Show Grace: Don’t assume the worst in others. Extend kindness, especially when you don’t know their story.
Sow and Reap: The kindness and respect you show others often comes back to you in your own times of need
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of communication both spoken and unspoken.
Help me to guard my heart, so that my thoughts, and emotions reflect Your love, and peace. May my body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice show kindness, and grace to others.
Teach me to extend understanding to those around me, especially when I don’t know their struggles.
Lord, help me to sow kindness, and patience, trusting that it will come back to me when I need it most.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
