Activating Self Control
I declare, and decree in the Mighty name of Jesus, that I am practicing self control in every area of my life. (Repeat 3 x’s)
Upon awakening each day, I will not allow social media, or anything else to distract me from pursuing the Lord; for He says, those who seek Me early shall find Me.
(Proverbs 8:17)
I will begin each day by seeking the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and in doing so all things (including self control) will be added unto me.
(Matthew 6:33)
As I put on the whole Armor of God each day, I will be well equipped to avoid temptation; and the urge to sin (Read 3 x’s)
(Ephesians 6:11-18)
My flesh desires to do the opposite of what pleases God, so I will walk in the Spirit; and not fulfill the lust of my flesh.
(Galatians 5:16-17)
Exercising self control each day will increase my ability to control my emotions, and avoid overreacting; I will be quick to hear, slow to speak; and slow to anger.
(James 1:19)
Self control is a skill that’s developed over time, so I will consistently work at it with a clear understanding that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
(Philippians 4:19)

Things you can ask the Lord for when it comes to self control:
– Acknowledgement of need: Recognize that you need God’s help to develop self-control. – Request for strength: Ask God to provide the strength to resist temptations and make good choices. – Guidance of the Holy Spirit: Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and actions. – Specific situations: Mention areas where you struggle with self-control, like anger management or unhealthy habits. – Gratitude for God’s grace: Thank God for the opportunity to grow in self-control through His grace.
Heavenly Father, I come before you today humbly asking for your strength to cultivate self-control in my life. When faced with temptation, grant me the wisdom to resist and choose the path that aligns with your will. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, so that I may manage my emotions and actions with grace and restraint. Help me to be mindful of my words and deeds, and guide me to make choices that honor you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”.
