Blind Faith
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith is something we practice every day, often without even realizing it. From the moment we’re born, we start building trust.
A baby learns to recognize their mother’s voice long before they can see her face. Even without sight, they know their mother’s presence because of what they hear.
The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) Even when we can’t see God, we can hear His voice, just like the baby recognizes its mother.
Jesus reminds us in John 10:27, “My sheep know My voice, and another they will not follow.” In moments of uncertainty, when we can’t see the way forward, we must still trust in what we hear from God. Sometimes, it feels like there’s no visible evidence that things will get better, but we can still hold on to faith.
What areas of your life could you apply blind faith to today? Maybe there’s a situation that looks impossible, but with God, nothing is impossible.
When we struggle with doubt, it’s easy to forget how faithful God has been in the past. But the more we read His Word, the more we strengthen our trust in Him.
Psalms 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”Just like a flashlight lights up a dark room, God’s Word lights up the path before us.
Even when we can’t see the way ahead, we can walk confidently in faith, knowing God will guide us. So, see it before you see it. Believe that God will make a way, even when you can’t yet see how.
Key Takeaways:
1. Faith is built through hearing – Just as a baby trusts its mother’s voice, we learn to trust God by hearing His Word. 2. Trust God even when you can’t see the way forward – True faith often means believing without visible evidence. 3. God’s Word is a guiding light – In moments of darkness or uncertainty, God’s Word helps us see the way ahead.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Please help us to develop our faith so that we can walk with confidence, even when we can’t see the way ahead. Even in moments of doubt, help us to hear Your voice clearly. Your Word says that it’s impossible to please You without faith, so strengthen our faith today.
Help us to remember how faithful You’ve been in our lives, and give us a deeper understanding of what it means to trust You fully.
You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. We place our faith and trust in You today and always.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray, Amen.
