Day 8 of 75 days in Faith
Extracting impurities from our Faith
On day 8 of 75 days in Faith we will discuss the value of our Faith, and the process that we go through to develop it.
The metal gold, throughout the years has not only maintained its value, but its increased significantly. For thousands of years it’s been used as a form of payment, and by some it’s been considered the first currency ever used.
Gold, discovered in its natural state more often than not, still has impurities such as minerals, and other metals.
And to extract those impurities, gold has to be heated to temperatures beyond a thousand degrees celsius for 30 minutes, or several hours in some cases.
Our Faith, just like gold can often have impurities such as doubt, uncertainty, and other imperfections due to things that we’ve had to go through.
We have to ask ourselves, how can those impurities be extracted from our Faith?
In James 1:2-3 he says, My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience…
Trials come to test our Faith, and they reveal how much Faith we actually have, and also what our Faith is rooted in.
For a moment, imagine if gold was a real person and it had the option to choose if it wanted to be purified or stay the same; do you think gold would choose the grueling process of being purified?
More than likely no…
Like gold, we may not like the process of being purified, but we must understand it’s a way for God to develop our perseverance, maturity, and overall Faith in Him.
Pure Faith that has been tried and tested is powerful and highly effective!!!
And the proof of this can be found in Matthew 17:20 when Jesus says, if you have Faith the size of a mustard seed you can move a mountain.
This parable reveals the true power of having Faith in God, and fully trusting Him in every area of our lives.
This process of our Faith being purified may seem overwhelming at times, but we must remember what Gods word says in Galatians 6:9.
Don’t grow weary in doing good for in due time you will reap a harvest if you don’t give up!
Keep the Faith!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the precious gift of Faith. We know that, like gold, our Faith must be refined and purified through trials.
Though the process may be difficult, we trust that You are shaping us, removing impurities, and making us stronger.
Help us to embrace each challenge with joy, knowing it builds our perseverance and trust in You.
Strengthen our hearts and minds to hold fast to Your promises, and remind us that, through You, even a small amount of Faith can move mountains.
May we endure, knowing that in due time, we will see the harvest of our steadfastness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
